I was born in Chertsey in Surrey, and from as far back as I can remember I was surrounded by music. My father was part of some rock band that I didn’t really understand when I was young. All I knew was that he was my Dad, and he was away a lot and when he was home, all hell broke loose. We had a big rock star house with a big rock star recording studio - it was great! I have some great memories of watching my Dad play; seeing Live Aid was really special.
My mum (who is an amazing woman and makes mean apple cake!) always keenly encouraged my music and as a result I was banging tambourines, shaking maracas and bashing the piano whenever I could. I was about 4 when I started really concentrating on piano. I wrote my first song when I was 6 – I think it was about my Action Man!
Heartbreakingly I lost my baby sister when I was only 9. My way of coping was always to immerse myself in music.
I started really getting into writing when I was at Hurtwood House, an amazing place where I loads of other kids from parents in the music industry went to school, so it was a fantastic environment to hone my skills. I still cherish a report by my music Master, which simply read ‘I have never met a student with so much natural musical ability.’
I began my music career in ‘96 writing with Tom Nicholls who has written for the likes of Kylie Minogue. I started performing at the Kitsch Lounge Riot at The Pigalle Club in Piccadilly, where I was headlining after just 2 months, which has led me to work with a number of international artists and bands.
My second love after music is sport, particularly motor racing. I have had an extensive karting career including being a works driver for three manufacturers, and won championships including the Le Mans and Dubai 24 hour races. I have raced against some of the great names in motor sport including Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and David Coulthard. I love playing football and have taken played in the last four Celebrity Soccer Six tournaments and Sky One’s Premier League All Stars show. I also play competitive tennis in the Middlesex County League.
The last three years have been fantastic, with the band playing amazing gigs all over the world at a huge variety of events including three gigs at the Silverstone Grand Prix to over 100,000 people, including 2008's Grand Prix, where we saw a fantastic win by our own Lewis Hamilton. We also have an annual slot at Prince William’s Polo event. Other projects of mind have included co-writing Matt Willis’ hit ‘Don’t Let It Go To Waste’ and taking part in Sky One’s show ‘Rock Stars Kids’. Recently I have recorded the new theme tune to ITV1’s ‘Holly and Fearne Go Dating’ with Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton.
This was then followed by us having a fantastic opportunity to support dad and The Quo on their recent tour at two of their huge Festival gigs in the Midlands, rocking to a huge crowd of thousands. We received such amazing feedback from those gigs and thoroughly enjoyed playing them.
We're now getting booked more and more which is fantastic news and with a few other projects in the pipeline, watch this space….
